About the Author
- Jeanette Fisher
Benefit from the years of experience and
research by Jeanette Fisher and her family. Jeanette first studied interior
design at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. Her love for
interior design fueled her passion to create homes for her family that
"make the children smile when they turn the corner and first see home
returning from school."
After a remodeling fiasco in the eighties,
Jeanette discovered the underlying psychology of interior design elements.
She researched interior design from a new angle--"backwards," she says "to
learn how each design detail makes you feel." Jeanette and her son
Evan studied how lighting, colors, patterns, textures and other design
elements influence a person's emotional well-being. During this time, Evan
received architecture degrees from the University of Florida and Harvard
University.
The entire Fisher family helped with experiments
on their 1878 Queen Anne Victorian home. Although the Fisher's began buying
houses and fixing them for resale in the 1970's, after they started applying
Design Psychology to transform "doghouses into dollhouses" they
realized a significant increase in real estate investment profits.
